Good Evening, I want to thank everyone for coming out to the concert last night. The children did an amazing job. Mrs. Tice the band director and the students performed beautifully. Mr. Iococco our Music teacher did an excellent job creating and directing his first music concert and pageant. The children sounded great and all looked stunning in their nice outfits. I have to say that I am so proud of middle school. Unfortunately, they did not get to sing their book of carols but the last week of school before Christmas, I promised them they could light the tree and sing for all of the school. It will be a great way to end the 2017 school year. I also want to thank many of the 5 - 8 th grade students for helping to set up and clean for the concert. They did a fantastic job. I am so proud of how responsible and mature they all behaved when we needed it most. Of course we could not do any of this without the support of our staff and parents. Thank you all for supporting the 8th grade fundraiser and Tree of Lights it was a huge success! Tomorrow is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and we will be going to church at St. Thomas for 12:00 mass. Fr. Doughty has invited the choir to sing with his music choir upstairs. The children are excited to do this. Sunday is BREAKFAST WITH SANTA!!!! Make sure to come from 8-12:30! We will have a great pancake breakfast and you could win a Hoverboard! One of our 8th graders was riding it last night and it looked like great fun. If you cant make it on Sunday, you can still send in your money tomorrow to purchase raffles. On Monday, December 11th the Archdiocese will be coming to take pictures of our children for our website and advertising. Please make sure the children are dressed in the full winter uniforms. Also on Monday, I will be setting up for the children's Christmas sale. This is the time that they can purchase items for their families and friends. The sale will run from Tuesday through Friday or earlier if all items are sold. I must say that I got some amazing gifts at great prices. The children can purchase items any where from $1.00 to $7.00. There will be gifts for pets also. If we are finished setting up in time we can have the children preview the items. OH and we will be selling gift cards for the face value from Starbucks, Amazon, Itunes etc.. These will be in limited quantity and in denominations from 5 to 15 dollars. If any parents, grandparents, or extended family members are available to help me on Monday I will be starting at 8 am and would appreciate your help. On Friday, December 15th, I am hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast or Dinner, which ever you are able to attend for all parents and extended families who do service and volunteer hours in the school, at events and during sports. The breakfast will be at 9am and if you cant make the breakfast there will be a light dinner @6 pm. I would appreciate it if you could RSVP me if you are coming and during what time by emailing me at lorianne.evanko@archny.org. SAVE THE DATE!!! January 17th is the date for a PTO meeting at 6PM. This meeting is for all existing PTO members and any parents who would like to join the PTO. The agenda for this meeting will consist of setting future dates for meetings, discussion of fundraising events such as Golf Outing, Spring & Summer Pocketbook Bingo, The Apple of My Eye Dance (moms and sons/ father and daughters) in Feb around Valentines Day, Carnival towards the end of the year in June, Food Truck Fair etc. Some of these are ideas that people have told me about. We would also set the calendar for events months in advance so that we can save the dates and form teams to run each fun event such as a Halloween Night, The Apple of My Eye Dance, A baseball game and picnic, picnic and a movie, family bingo night in the new year and other fun family events we would like to do for the children as a school community. Our opportunities are wide open, especially with us not having to share the school. So, please save the date and we can work on all these things and more. Once again, I want to thank you all for everything you do, but especially for sharing your beautiful children with us. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I get to live my dream everyday. Our children, bring me so much joy and even when having the worst day a bright smile or a little one taking your hand, or a surprise hug from a child, or the sound of their laughter and their smiles makes everything alright. They are all beautiful children of God and we are blessed.
